Fall & Winter 2026/ 2027:
Retreats take place on the regenerative farm
Quinta Vale da Lama
From Spring 2027:
Retreats take place at Casa Bravura,
part of the 242 ha. Bravura project.
From spring 2027, Brava Cerâmica retreats take place at Casa Bravura. Here, you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, yet close to everything.
The Bravura Dam
Casa Bravura lies on the north peninsula of the Barragem da Bravura, a lake in the pine and eucalyptus hills behind Lagos. Mornings start by the water; evenings end with the sun going down over it. Swim, walk the shoreline, or simply sit and watch the light change.
The south and west coasts
25 minutes west: the cliffs of the Costa Vicentina run north past Aljezur, one of Europe's best-loved surf towns. It's a protected natural park with long, wild beaches. 25 minutes south: the old harbour town of Lagos has markets, restaurants and the rock arches of Ponta da Piedade.
Getting here
Fly into Faro, about an hour by car, or Lisbon, about three hours by car. We recommend hiring a car to explore on your free afternoons.

Where to sleep - Fall & Winter 2026
Fall & Winter 2026 our retreats are hosted at Quinta Vale da Lama, near Lagos. A beautiful regenerative farm, with farm-to-table restaurant which only opened in September 2026. Here you can also book a room. Trust us, once you set foot here, it’s hard to leave.
Where to sleep - Spring 2027 onwards
From spring 2027 we will move to our own Casa Bravura and Brava Cerâmica Studio, on the north peninsula of Barragem da Bravura, Algarve. Here you can also book one of the rooms we are now busy renovating. For every course, you can either stay with us, or choose your own accommodation nearby. If you're unsure which option is right for you, we're happy to help.
Stay nearby
There are great options to stay in the area. If you have questions, we can help you choose the option that best suits your course and make sure it's within easy reach of the studio.
Stay with us
We will contact you with your accommodation options after your booking.
You can always contact us with any question. The ceramics course is identical whether you stay with us or arrange your own accommodation. If you're unsure which option is best for you, we're happy to help.
Extra activities
Ask us for recommendations on Surf Classes, massages, boat tours, and more.
Car Hire
We recommend hiring a car for your stay. While the studio and accommodation are on the same place, having your own car gives you the freedom to explore the west Algarve before, during or after your course. From quiet beaches and coastal walks to local markets, villages and restaurants, the region is best experienced at your own pace.

We recommend booking a transfer to the hotel and back to the airport. If you don’t stay with us or rent a car, arrange transport between the studio and your accommodation.
FAQs
A few things people tend to ask us before they come.
