A €300 deposit secures your place. The remaining €1,050 is due 60 days before your retreat begins. If you book close to the balance due date, payment in full is required when you book.

Yes. You can reserve your place with a €300 deposit or pay the full €1,350 when you book.

You'll receive a booking confirmation straight away. As your retreat approaches, we'll send you information to prepare, including your ceramicist and course details, travel information, accommodation options and what to bring.

Plans change. If you cancel more than 60 days before your retreat, we'll refund 50% of your €300 deposit.
Within 60 days, your booking is non-refundable. If we're able to fill your place, we'll refund everything you've paid except the €300 deposit. You can also transfer your place to someone else at no charge.
We recommend taking out travel insurance that covers cancellation.

If Brava cancels your retreat, all payments made to Brava will be refunded in full or, if you prefer, transferred to another available retreat.
We can't cover travel or accommodation booked separately, so we recommend choosing flexible or refundable travel where possible.

Not at all. Every week is open to all levels, from complete beginners to people with an established practice. Our small groups allow the ceramicist to work with different levels in the same studio.

Yes. Clay, glazes, use of studio equipment and firing of the work you make during the course are included in the course fee.

Your work stays with us to dry, glaze where applicable, and fire. Once it is ready, we'll carefully pack and ship your finished pieces to you.
Firing, packing and standard European shipping are included in the course fee. Please sign your pieces so we know which work belongs to you.
Ceramics are fragile, and while we take great care in packing your work, Brava cannot be responsible for damage or delays once a parcel is in transit. If a parcel is returned and needs to be shipped again, the additional shipping cost is yours.

Your work stays with us after the retreat to dry, be glazed where applicable, and be fired.

Firing, packing and shipping are included up to €50 in shipping costs.

If shipping costs more than €50, you will pay the difference.

Five days of studio practice with your ceramicist, clay and materials, use of studio equipment, glazing and firing, and standard European shipping of your finished pieces.
Around the studio programme: home-cooked, farm-to-table meals, two dinners out, pre-class meditation, a guided Bravura nature walk, experiences with local makers, growers and craftspeople, yoga, and time on the land.
Optional activities such as surfing, massage and additional yoga can be arranged separately.

The studio hours and core Brava programme remain consistent. Activities outside the studio may change with the season, weather and the people we work with locally.

Accommodation is booked separately. From 2027, you can stay with us at Casa Bravura, on the land and close to the studio, or arrange your own accommodation nearby.
The ceramics retreat itself is the same whichever option you choose.

Yes. Meals are home-cooked and farm-to-table, using local, seasonal and organic produce wherever possible.
We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and most other dietary requirements. Tell us about any dietary requirements or allergies when you book.

Bravura is in the west Algarve, Portugal. Faro is the nearest airport.
A rental car is recommended. We'll send detailed directions and travel information before your retreat, including options if you're travelling without a car.

Arrive on Sunday from 18:00. Welcome dinner and drinks are served at 19:00.
The retreat finishes after breakfast on Saturday, with departure at 08:30.

Of course. Each retreat has only eight places, so we recommend booking at the same time if you want to come together. We can't hold places without a booking.
